Greetings, fellow travelers who are coming to Chiapas, Mexico–whether in body or in spirit! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Leslie Mills, a student at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, your current hostess on this blog. The future looks bright as we prepare to journey together over the next few weeks!
The traveling group looks like a wonderful and diverse group of folks, and I know we are really looking forward to getting to know each other. We’ve had a couple small tastes of each other’s company, and it’s just enough to make us even more curious! We are all in various stages of packing and preparing, and I know that I, for one, am experiencing increasing levels of butterfly activity in my belly. But more on that in the next post!
If you would like to subscribe to this blog, you can get new entries delivered right to your email account! As our distinguished founder Mr. Melcher noted previously, when you subscribe, it shows your support for this blog, these trips, and the people both near and far who travel with UTS’s global justice trips. To subscribe, there is the “Subscribe by Email” button at the right, or the “RSS Feed” link at the top. If you (like me) are unsure what that means, you can click the “About Our Trips” tab at the top, and Mr. Melcher will tell you all about it!
And as always, please share your thoughts with us in the “Comments” section at the end of each post. We will be checking the comments whenever we can and sharing them with the group. It’s like getting letters from home!
Looking forward to walking with you,
-lm
I only know one of you, but am excited for all of you! In this last bit of time before you all arrive in Chiapas, I wish each and every one of you serenity as you finalize preparations, two good nights of sleep before your departure, and safe travels!
Many, many thanks Laurie, we need all of those things to begin our journey together, so thank you for such good energy and thoughts! Chris
Dear Travelers,
I want to extend such heartfelt gratitude for the journeys you are all on, and all the facets of those journeys you have shared with us readers. Your words have reached deep, and my heart, eyes, mind, and spirit have been opened even wider by the experiences you have shared. I look so forward to reading more, hearing more, and learning more. Thank you so very deeply for the generous gifts you have given all of us by taking the time to share your experiences with us during your trip. I wish you all the very best for the remainder of your trip, and safe travels back home tomorrow.
Laurie
PS Please give an especially heartfelt hello to Chris.
